Life is decidedly challenging, often unpredictable, and full of curve balls. It’s only reasonable that at some point one of those curve balls is going to hit a bit too hard, throw you off, and leave you sensing that a little help might just be a gift you give yourself. Counseling can be that gift.
That’s the beauty of Christian counseling as that gift includes Christ’s limitless hope, power, and promise, reminding all – His beloved – that there’s no one too far from God’s healing hand. Thankfully, God specializes in restoration and renewal and delights in sharing these with us for our peace and well-being. Whether you’re under a burden too hard to bear, struggling with overload, knee-deep in family issues, facing the difficulty of loss, anticipating a transition or just looking to gain an improved perspective, a comfortable conversation with one who cares about what you’re facing may be the very gift God uses to help you. “For it is the Lord your God who will hold your right hand; it is the Lord who says to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you’” (Isa. 41:13).
Married for 40 years, a mother of 2 adult children and 3 young grandkids, a past teacher, trainer, and minister to adolescents and adults, and a mentor and speaker to women, I’ve worn a lot of hats and faced my share of the good, the bad, and the hard to overcome in life. However, it’s been in the tightest spaces that God has gotten my fullest attention to do His best work. From this, I’ve learned that God is a God of hope, power and promise and that it’s not where you’ve been or where you are that has to define you but what God has for you and what that can do for your life.
My educational path includes a bachelor’s in Interpersonal Communication, a master’s in Education, and a master’s in Pastoral Counseling with a certification in Temperament Therapy. Personally, I enjoy a good conversation, Christian community, meeting a real need, the love of family and friends, a good find at a thrift store, yard work, and the natural beauty around me on my daily walks.
I truly hope that should you choose, I’ll get to enjoy a good conversation with you.
